This design is a single whisk hand mixer intended for the smaller whipping tasks in the kitchen. It is playful in its organic design language and has references to Streamline Moderne. Switching between the different gears is easily done by pressing forward or backwards on the button placed on the top. The design allows the user to support the hand mixer on the edge of the bowl for a break, where a new ingredient can be added.
Easy storage is part of the design. The whisk can be inserted into the underside of the hand mixer and the electric wire can be wrapped around it. Everything is gathered when it is not in use.

SELECTION FROM THE PROCESS
I started this project by gaining an understanding on how a hand mixer works. I researched how and for what people are using their hand mixer today, and which things and functions are most important. I found out that many only use their hand mixer for whipping cream and mixing cake dough, and I choose to work on a design just for that. I wanted to challenge how hand mixers look today. I wanted to design a hand mixer where the aesthetics were in focus and the user would look forward to use it again. I looked into alternative shapes and simplicity. I choose a shape with a direction that looks like it's jumping into the bowl. I spent a lot of time finding the right curves and thickness, which together created a good product to hold and a wholeness in its composition. Because it is a single whisk hand mixer I could play more with the shape of the whisk because it didn't need to be able to whip with another whisk next to it.
